Trepidation

I'm on the cusp of a big adventure.

Who knows what it will bring?

This uncertainty was making me quite nervous earlier today. This anxiety was compounded by all the trainers saying "you need to make the most of it" and "be as proactive as possible". Of course, this is what we need to do, but it can add a bit of pressure, and a feeling like, "am I having the best time I can be having?"

But then I was thinking - what am I actually worried about? Failing in class? Not doing as well as I thought I would do? But this is what it's all about ! This isn't CELTA where we get a grade at the end. We don't have anything to fail or lose. This is a time for experimenting in the classroom and finding out more about ourselves as teachers. This is a time for learning and personal development, not about worrying and stressing about lessons and problems. So to anyone else that's a bit nervous, I'm with you - but we just need to see the bigger picture. We're going to another country to live and work with locals (in a new language)... Not everyone gets this opportunity!

Hasta la vista Glasgow, hola Moncada ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ
